Sirilda Pauline Marlow Cook

Sirilda Pauline Marlow Cook, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:05 P.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
She was born December 21, 1917 at Tamaroa, IL, the daughter of Clarence Edgar and Belle (Wilkes) Marlow.
She married Jesse L. Cook on October 12, 1939 at Perryville, Missouri and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1996.
Pauline was a well known seamstress in the community, and also a gifted artist.  Until the time of her marriage, she was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist Church, where she attended with her family.  Following her marriage and moving to Du Quoin, she united with First Baptist Church, where she served on many committees, was a teacher and pianist in the children's department for fifteen years, and after that she became a member and teacher of the Euzelian Class and active in WMU until the time of her illness.
Surviving are her son - Bob (Sally) Cook and daughter - Joann (Jerry) Dunn of Du Quoin, grandchildren - Melissa (Shane) Bishop, Paul (Christina) Martin, Christopher (Amy) Martin, Sarah and Susan Cook, great grandchildren - Zec and Lydia Bishop, Sierra and Devon Cook, Jessica, Gage and Will Martin.  Also surviving is one sister - Mrs. Mary Valier of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 15, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shane Bishop and Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at Du Quoin.
